“Recently the Ultra Soft Egg Crate was the perfect solution. I was working in a situation where the Director of Photography wanted to balance a natural light look with a high contrast stylized outcome. In this case, I began with a skypanel to balance light coming in from a window and used the Lighttools 40 ° Original Soft Egg Crate in black. It turned out to be too much contrast considering the light from the window. I ended up using the 40° Ultra Soft Egg Crate and it worked perfectly — it felt more natural. It was that perfect balance between natural light scatter while introducing contrast with light control.”
