Lighttools® Ultra Soft Egg Crates® (33% grey) allows you to achieve a greater degree of shadow clarity and a more gradual highlight to shadow edge.
While Lighttools® Soft Egg Crates® (original black) block light in the most dramatic way, the new Ultra Soft Egg Crates® are made with a specialized 33% grey reflective material in what we have found to be the optimum grey. Ultra Soft Egg Crates® block the same amount of light as the original with a slightly more graduated transition to shadow.
